I'm really trying to make most of my cards mail friendly, but they still have to be pretty, of course! I no longer think of foam tape as a necessary ingredient. My entry for Impression Obsession Holiday Wishes shows you what I mean.
The card front was dry embossed with the Richard Garay Lumberjack Days folder. The foliage dies are cut from dark red & green scraps, spritzed heavily with shimmer mist & tucked in behind the sentiment strip which is glued down flat. The die cuts aren't stacked, but I did let the ends curl up. What do you think?
The IO products are D5686, DIE215-E & DIE349-J.
I'm also entering JUGS & WAW.

the embossed background is lovely with the berries and foliage!
ReplyDeleteI think your trick is amazing. The tucking and leaving the ends free is fab. The embossing folder is a great bit of texture too. Love this.
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! I love the embossing! I'm thinking of eliminating my fun foam as well from my cards - it seems the post office is getting harder and harder to deal with when sending out handmade cards - I follow their rules, but this last time someone at the PO returned my stack of cards to me, saying not enough postage, so I took them down personally to the office and asked them if they were right or not? And the clerk said yes, they were ALL stamped correctly, bendy, and fit in the slot... she said it's not her (She knows I weigh & stamp my mail) before I bring them in.... It was odd, but they all went out with no complaints the second time so far.... :)
