Easter Cards

Looking for a bargain?  Check out my sale pages.  Lots of stamps & dies available.

It's been kinda challenging at our place lately.  Fritz is having GI problems, so we've been to the vet twice & had a restless night with little sleep.  Needless to say, I haven't gotten much done.  Things are calm this afternoon, so I'm hoping to finally post a couple cards that have been waiting to be entered in some challenges.
First up is a card I started, but didn't finish for the March challenge.  Fortunately, I could make it work for the Poppystamps April challenge.

I die cut Poppystamps Powell Butterfly from a scrap I painted with leftover Rose metallic acrylic paint (making this card) & from charcoal textured cardstock.  I inlaid the pink pieces into the charcoal outline & vice versa.  Stick pins for antenna were sandwiched between the inlaid butterfly & a solid white piece I trimmed as a backer.  Soon I'll post the card I made with the other butterfly.  The background was made by die cutting Poppystamps Massa Leaf Frame from a white panel & a gray panel.  The gray die cut was inlaid into the white panel & matted with a slightly larger gray panel.  I die cut the smallest Stitched Bloom Trio from vellum 3 times & added them to the frame with a dot of Champagne Stickles.

The butterfly was mounted with foam tape & I added some clear Pico Embellisher as dew drops.  The Easter greeting will be inside.  I'm also entering DRUDCD & Time Out.

Gray & pink is one of my favorite color combos, so I used it again for this card.

The Abstract Petals MFT stencil was used with Heidi Swapp white Art Screen Ink which has a beautiful sheen.  The banner was die cut with MFT Fishtail Flags & the next size up was used for the mat.  Both the mat & the Impression Obsession die cut sentiment were foiled with Gina K Twinkling Pink.

The flag was added to a gray panel & I arranged MFT Wild Greenery white die cuts behind the sentiment.  Lots of pretty sparkle & shine in person for this one.  I'm entering Country View Challenges Easter/Spring,  MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge, ModSquad Challenge & SSS Monday.

  13. These are both just lovely Greta! The pinks and grays do look fabulous together. So sorry to hear about Fritz. When they were doing tests on Max they discovered he had had several bouts of pancreatitis. It's something mini schnauzers are prone too. Have they checked him for that? I know he's not a mini, but maybe it's a schnauzer trait too. Hope he's better soon.

  22. I hope by now, that Fritz is on the mend and your sleep has returned to normal. I absolutely love this colour combo, the fuschia with the soft grey really floats my boat. I think my fave is the butterfly on, but they are both swoon worthy.
