Woke up feeling like a cold is trying to get me, so decided I better post the cards I recently made.
SSS Flower Cluster was die cut from purple & light green scraps so I could inlay them into the black outline left over from the card in my previous post.
The sentiment is from SSS Thoughtful Messages--a set I reach for frequently. I die cut the thin frame from SSS Frames from a white A2 size panel & a black scrap. The black frame replaced the white one & the whole piece was glued to a card front. Then the focal piece was mounted to the center with fun foam. The flower centers were embellished with little gems. This card is a good example of what I call the Clean & Fresh style. I'm entering SSS Flickr Challenge 122, SSS Wednesday & WAW.
Next is my entry for the Altenew April Inspiration Challenge. I recently picked up the Layered Floral Elements die set in a sale. Lately I've seen people use the same color for all the layers & I really wanted to try that. I picked out 3 Distress Inks close to the inspiration colors: picked raspberry, salty ocean & scattered straw. I smooshed 3 watercolor paper scraps, purposely having some areas a bit darker so there would be subtle contrast in the die cuts layered together.
A white pen was used for some accents & Altenew Jet Black spray ink made the splatters. Another favorite sentiment stamp set is Altenew's Painted Greetings which I've had since 2016. I previously cut the 2 words apart, so they were ready to use for this card. The focal panel was backed with a couple layers of cardstock for slight dimension before being attached to a textured white panel. It may not look like a kid's card, but our little neighbor girl who loves pink & flowers is about to have a birthday. I'm handing down a miniature pink ceramic tea set to her along with this card. I'm also entering RRCB & SSS Wednesday.
Thanks so much for taking time to stop by. If your blog address is in your profile or comment, I will visit you.
Two beautiful floral cards Greta! The first is striking with the thin black outline of the florals and thin matting. I like the plum and sage on this one too!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to say I hope you're feeling better and NOT coming down with a cold!

ReplyDeleteYour a pro at creating beautiful CAS cards --- both of these are very lovely!
ReplyDeleteCool that you got a twofer and it is so pretty. The pink flower is perfect for a little girl and oh my, how thrilled she will be with a tea set. You need to have a tea party with her, wouldn't that be a sweet thing with tea and cookies. I didn't have girls so I didn't get to do that.
ReplyDeleteBOTH Beautiful cards Greta, I should think the little girl will love the card with it's bright colours and to have her very own tea set, oh! how wonderful, what a treasure I'm sure it will become.
