March Madness--Oregon Style!

Figured the forecast was wrong, but sure enough--we got snow! Now that would not be surprising if I lived in Denver, but we don't even get snow every winter--let alone in March!  There were beautiful big wet snowflakes at 11pm last night & here's what it looked like this morning.
Would you believe school was cancelled?!  Not sure why they panicked, but as expected by early afternoon Fritz was enjoying a sunbath!

Last day to enter the Winnie & Walter 3rd BD Bash Challenges & here are my last 2 cards.
First is a Christmas card for Kelly's Stencil Challenge.
I sponged Distress Ink pumice stone through a stencil by MFT & then arranged die cut & stamped flowers & greenery from W&W In Bloom: Frenchy's Festive Florals.  The flowers are brushed with Wink of Stella & Stickles embellish the centers. The die cut word is stacked 3 high with the top layer cut from silver glitter paper which is also attached to the left edge of the card front.  I'm also entering Christmas Card Challenges & SSS Monday.
Next is another entry for Keren's Off the Page Challenge. My sweet friend, Cat, stamped the new Bed of Roses for me, as it hasn't come to my house yet.
I colored with a couple purple Zigs & blended with Wink of Stella.  After die cutting it with a circle, I noticed the black die cut square on my table. It was just what I needed for a little different look.  The sentiment from Frenchy's Florals was stamped in Brilliance Graphite Black--my favorite black ink for sentiments.  I added some splatters with the ink, too.  Just learned a blogging friend suffered a stroke recently. Thankfully she's recovered pretty well & hopefully this card will brighten her day.  I'm also entering Time Out & The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge.  Thanks so much for stopping by.

  1. Two gorgeous cards. I love the background on the first one and the colours on the second card are so striking.

We rarely get snow here in the west of England, but when we do get a light covering of snow all the traffic comes to a standstill! xx

  6. March madness always brings snow here during the basketball finals! We had more severe storms last night and possible snow by the weekend. Nuts is what it is. Great stenciling and it really shows the flowers as focal point. The purple roses are so pretty. I'm so sorry to hear of your friends stroke and hope she is doing well.

Also like how you've grouped the elements in the centre and then the leaves look like they are spiraling out. Love this card a lot x Perfect off the page card for the second card. The black is perfect with the purple...contemporary and fun layout x

  10. I know right, I thought we finally have Vegas weather back last week but again, the cold is back, night time high is in the 40s, way too cold for my plant and new seeds!
Beautiful work, love both of them!

Well you got snow. We didn't have much snow but loads of rain. I am so ready to drink my coffee in the garden:) But Spring has not arrived here; it's rainy and cold. Yikes!

  18. That rose card really caught my eye. As for the snow photo....ICK! I laugh that they cancelled school and panicked. They'd do that here too and die once when we had an inch of snow stick. I found out after I got to work. My commute was interesting, watched a city bus slide sideways at me. That was about in the middle of his route; you'd think he'd have that ice thing figured out by then.
