Would you believe school was cancelled?! Not sure why they panicked, but as expected by early afternoon Fritz was enjoying a sunbath!
Last day to enter the Winnie & Walter 3rd BD Bash Challenges & here are my last 2 cards.
First is a Christmas card for Kelly's Stencil Challenge.
I sponged Distress Ink pumice stone through a stencil by MFT & then arranged die cut & stamped flowers & greenery from W&W In Bloom: Frenchy's Festive Florals. The flowers are brushed with Wink of Stella & Stickles embellish the centers. The die cut word is stacked 3 high with the top layer cut from silver glitter paper which is also attached to the left edge of the card front. I'm also entering Christmas Card Challenges & SSS Monday.
Next is another entry for Keren's Off the Page Challenge. My sweet friend, Cat, stamped the new Bed of Roses for me, as it hasn't come to my house yet.
I colored with a couple purple Zigs & blended with Wink of Stella. After die cutting it with a circle, I noticed the black die cut square on my table. It was just what I needed for a little different look. The sentiment from Frenchy's Florals was stamped in Brilliance Graphite Black--my favorite black ink for sentiments. I added some splatters with the ink, too. Just learned a blogging friend suffered a stroke recently. Thankfully she's recovered pretty well & hopefully this card will brighten her day. I'm also entering Time Out & The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Two gorgeous cards. I love the background on the first one and the colours on the second card are so striking.
ReplyDeleteWe rarely get snow here in the west of England, but when we do get a light covering of snow all the traffic comes to a standstill! xx
I had to laugh at them canceling school!! You should see what it takes for them to cancel it here!! Glad Fritz was able to soak up the sun. What fabulous cards today Greta. They both have a wonderful artistic flair to them. So sorry to hear abut your blogging friend. This card will definitely brighten her day!!
ReplyDeleteBoth of your cards are wonderful Greta! Love the stenciled background on the first and pretty purple blossoms on the second!
ReplyDeleteI immediately went an added that bed of roses- stamp to my project list at SSS -your gorgeous coloring really made me want this stamp! Wonderful work! Thanks for joining us at TIME OUT again!
ReplyDeleteWonderful cards Greta! I love that MFT stencil! It really draws the eye in! And snow! Haha! Even Majorca is expecting snow! The world and the weather is crazy!
ReplyDeleteMarch madness always brings snow here during the basketball finals! We had more severe storms last night and possible snow by the weekend. Nuts is what it is. Great stenciling and it really shows the flowers as focal point. The purple roses are so pretty. I'm so sorry to hear of your friends stroke and hope she is doing well.
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely cards Greta and I love the stencilling. A lovely photo of Fritz enjoying the sun. How relaxed he looks. Barbxx
ReplyDeleteyou are definitely on a roll, greta!! you just keep creating one amazing card after another!! the way you used the spotlighting on the second one is so unique!! (it snowed up here, but didn't stick... Gabriel was so sad!!)
ReplyDeleteWow what unpredictable weather for you...Snow in March and then sunshine...very strange x Love the pumice through he stencil on the first card and loving the colour combination. Also like how you've grouped the elements in the centre and then the leaves look like they are spiraling out. Love this card a lot x Perfect off the page card for the second card. The black is perfect with the purple...contemporary and fun layout x
ReplyDeleteJust re-read my comment...I meant the card is fun and so appropriate and would cheer your friend up ...hope that makes sense? x
DeleteI know right, I thought we finally have Vegas weather back last week but again, the cold is back, night time high is in the 40s, way too cold for my plant and new seeds!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work, love both of them!
Two amazing cards, Greta! Love the pumice stone background you created with that fabulous stencil. The purples really stand out in your second card and the black frame really makes them pop. Our weather has been strange this year, too - way too warm for us!
ReplyDeleteThe black card set as a diamond on your card looks really stunning and so striking with the purple of the image. Great card. Hugs Mrs A.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful cards, Greta!! Awesome stencil on your first card with pretty flowers and sparkly sentiment! Second card is lovely with the purple framed flowers...interesting design...so pretty!! We may get some snow this weekend...sigh!
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous joy cards, Greta! Have to laugh - you had snow and we had tornadoes in the area, go figure!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards look great! Thanks for joining us this week at Christmas Card Challenges.
ReplyDeleteYour roses look so subtile and elegant by the colouring; looks so beautiful! Thank you for joining us at our third Birthdayparty at TIME OUT!
ReplyDeleteI am sure that your second card will brighten your friends' day. So thoughtful of you! I love the design of both cards; fab use of that stencil!
ReplyDeleteWell you got snow. We didn't have much snow but loads of rain. I am so ready to drink my coffee in the garden:) But Spring has not arrived here; it's rainy and cold. Yikes!
That rose card really caught my eye. As for the snow photo....ICK! I laugh that they cancelled school and panicked. They'd do that here too and die once when we had an inch of snow stick. I found out after I got to work. My commute was interesting, watched a city bus slide sideways at me. That was about in the middle of his route; you'd think he'd have that ice thing figured out by then.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to get snow...so jealous! Love your sweet snow photo and your cards are amazing.
ReplyDeleteCool card! that background really draws the eye in to your design! and hey, I always take snow days when they come, even if it doesn't make sense :) Thanks so much for joining us this week at Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge! hugs, Maura

Wonderful entries Greta.
