Distress Markers

Deepti's Card
I've been tempted to get the new Zig Clean Color pens, but decided I should start using the Distress Markers I already have.  My first card is inspired by Deepti's beauty & I'm entering the Stamplorations Inspiration CASE Playground.
I scribbled an acrylic block with Distress Markers, spritzed with water & placed it on a panel of watercolor paper.
The words are from Stamplorations Trendy Butterflies & I added some splatters with the brown ink.  3 shades of twine were braided & glued to the bottom of the panel before I mounted it to a kraft card.  I'm also entering the Make It Colorful challenge at SSS Wednesday. Edited to add: almost forgot to enter the perpetual Anything Goes challenge at Stamplorations.
My second card uses pastel Distress Markers using the same technique. The silhouette floral image & sentiment are from SSS Warm Wishes.
I added some shine & sparkle with MFT Glitter Glaze. Last minute entry for SSS Flickr challenge #26 to Play with Pastels.
My last card uses 4 blue Distress Markers used with the acrylic block & placed on the card front over the silver embossed Penny Black sentiment.  Then I used the Taylored Expressions Snowfall embossing folder & spritzed with Tattered Angels Pearl.
I'm entering my card in the One Layer Christmas Card Challenge, Inkspirational & Addicted to CAS. Edited: Replaced the original picture with the card I made after taking time to re-ink my silver pad & using only the 3 lighter blue markers.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

  2. Greta, I just can't keep up with you! Since I was last here you have made eight cards! It takes me several days to make one and I'm retired! They are all so pretty. I love the PTI SAF #2 inspired by Jennifer. I love that embossing folder you used and the colors. I also like the technique you used on today's cards.

  8. All pretty collection of cards! I agree with you about wanting to get the ZIG Clean Color Watercolored Brushes! I really need to use what I have and STOP getting stuff that are similar to the stuff that I already own just because it's all the rage right now. Lol! But, hopefully my extra money come soon because I truly want to try them! Why do they keep coming out with awesome stuff?! Lol! :) Enjoy the rest of your week, Greta!

  12. You've been busy playing with water, Greta! Love how you used the distress inks as watercolours. I tempted to buy zig clean brush too but they were rather pricey and will settle with TH inks at the moment.

  13. I like that you can get such different looks with the same technique. The top card is so industrial grunge and the second one so soft and pretty while that third one is so textured. They are all very nice!

  14. Wow, Greta you have been busy with those distress markers. I love mine I rarely color with them full strength...I love them for water coloring. Your washes of color are fabulous backdrops for your sentiments. I particularly like your embossed and swished background.
