I have to say that yellow is not one of "my" colors. That doesn't mean I never use or like it. Of my 60 rose bushes only 3 are yellow but I wouldn't be without them! The one on my card is Oregold & I think it's a stunning tribute to my beautiful state. It's one of the many roses my dear dad planted even though he always said with a twinkle in his eye "the only flower is a red rose." With an enormous stamp collection, I don't make a habit of printing images. However, when I saw the CASology theme was "yellow" this picture I recently took immediately came to mind. Yellow roses are associated with Joy & Friendship making this wonderful Penny Black quote from the clear set "friendship" a natural choice. Don't you just love the Cuttlebug Anna Griffin Rosa embossing folder? The yellow scalloped circle is die cut from a piece of a store bought card I saved knowing the heavy cardstock could be re-used. This card is for all of you sweet folks who add joy to my cardmaking with your encouragement & kindness. Thank you!
Yellow roses have been special for me ... and I love this beautiful card!!

ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card for the yellow cue! I love how you used a photo for this lovely creation!
ReplyDeleteAbsolute beauty, Greta! (My mouth dropped at 60 rosebushes, lol. Your garden must be absolutely a wonder of nature & effort!)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your card, Greta! Yellow roses ARE my favorites, they were in my wedding bouquet. But I never knew what they meant, (or more likely, I've forgotten ;)) Knowing their meaning I love them all the more now! I have only 1 yellow rose: Julia Child, and it is beautiful right now. With all the rain we've been having here the roses have been especially beautiful this year! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea to use a photograph as your main image! Beautiful! So glad you joined in on the fun at CASology this week!

ReplyDeleteGreta, this is such a lovely picture and a perfect card for our cue this week. The yellow rose is gorgeous (I wish I had one in my garden...not having much luck with any roses unfortunately!). I do love that rose embossing folder, I hadn't seen it before...must go searching! Thanks so much for joining us this week at CASology...your yellow rose is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThat embossed background is so perfect for the gorgeous photo! What a pretty rose, Greta and a beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteThis is the prettiest photo card I've ever seen Greta! That embossing folder is perfect and I love how you used vellum for the sentiment!
ReplyDeleteGreat use of a photo as a focal point. And the sentiment on the vellum is clever, too - it gets the sentiment there without covering the lovely bloom! Thanks so much for playing along with us at CASology this week!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous card Greta!
ReplyDeleteThe white and yellow combo is so pure. I love the fact that you embossed the background and the three gems are the perfect finishing touch! Well done again my Friend!
