I had to do a return at Michael's which is about 12 miles away & boy did I find a bargain. The Spellbinders they had left were 80% off and I couldn't resist the beautiful A-2 Fancy Ribbon Threader. It gave me a starting place for my card which I'm entering at Verve Inspiration Challenge: Let It Bloom & Dies R Us Anniversary. MFT Mini Rolled Roses were die cut in MFT felt, embellished with blue pearls & mounted over the MFT Leaf-Filled Flourish. I glued 2 of my ribbons together & love how they look threaded through the die cut. The sentiment from Lil' Inker Designs Modern Mehndi was stamped in Brilliance Mediterranean Blue.
Got quite a surprise yesterday when I was walking down our dead end street with Fritz. At first I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me! Grabbed my camera & caught the big guy in front of the neighbor's house. If you look close, you can see one of their little dogs in the window & he was not happy that big thing was in his yard--LOL!
Thanks so much for stopping by. My weekend to work, but I'll catch up with you soon.
I love all the layers of your felt flowers and the red, white and blue birthday card are always so festive! How cool to see that big thing in the neighborhood. Good thing it isn't November!

ReplyDeleteWhoo Hoo, lucky you finding such a bargain at 80% off. I'm wondering if I should make a trip to our Michaels. That would be worth it. I love the turkey. Did you ever find out where he came from? Surely someone is missing him (her)? Your card today is beautiful. Those felt flowers are gorgeous and glueing the ribbons together was a great idea. Very clever and it looks so good that way. I've never seen that die before.

ReplyDeleteHello Greta,
ReplyDeleteLucky you in finding such a bargain, 80% off is unheard of here!
I can see this card in a magazine....Ha, and you know my thoughts on this. However it has all the requirements that they like; excellent design and composition, beautiful elements, patriotic palette, not too difficult, but importantly very attractive to the eye.
Smiles:)

ReplyDeleteI don't much about birds. I can identify that as being NOT a roadrunning, hummingbird, duck or chicken. Is it a turkey or pheasant? Whatever, what a neat find to photograph. Love the red, white and blue card. What a neat idea to combine two ribbons into one.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful design, I love the flowers. What a deal with Spellbinders at 80% off! Take care, Shirleyxx
