MFT Camp Create

I always love MFT Camp Create--lots of inspiration & prizes! Here is my entry for Day 2: Magnificent Masking. The video showed how to make the perfect horizon--check it out.  For my card, though, I masked an oval area & blended DI lucky clover & cracked pistachio for the grass and blueprint sketch & mermaid lagoon for the sky on linen cardstock. 

Then I stamped Peaceful Wildflower images in Vintage Sepia with the mask in place using my stamp positioner to get darker images. I splattered some white paint & added the oval frame which is stacked 3 high.  I used the same blue inks to stamp the sentiment from the same set & added 3 white sequins.  Gotta get applesauce made today--keep putting it off.  Thankfully we didn't have quite as big a crop of apples as usual.  My Day 3 card is already made & I'll be working on the other challenges. PTI & MFT

Finally have my laptop back--not that they fixed it!  They gave me 3 different stories--so frustrating.  I can still use it & hopefully the battery will continue to charge.  Decided to try an original power cord instead of the universal & see if that solves my problem.  At least the part I bought wasn't expensive & who knows--may eventually need it.  Fritz is almost transitioned fully onto the new dog food & he's doing good.  Still not really wanting to play, but certainly more interested in his world.  The backyard squirrel is driving him crazy! 
Onto cards beginning with PTI CAWU.  This month I was inspired to case Lizzie's gorgeous autumn leaves card.  She gave me the perfect layout to use with the image from Autumn Adornments.  

I stamped in Versamark & embossed with 4 Zing! powders. Luckily, one of my rectangle dies was the right size for my window inside the dots done with PTI Mix & Mat Flourishes. Love the font of the sentiment from PTI Take Three: Fall.  It's stamped in VersaMagic Gingerbread, clear embossed & trimmed into a flag only attached on the left edge. They don't show much, but I did add 3 yellow Nuvo drops.  I'm also entering CCCB, Paru's Card Making Challenges, SSS Wednesday & Word Art Wednesday.

Next is my card for MFT Camp Create Day 1: Inlaid Made Easy.  Barbara's multi-inlaid scene is fabulous, but I went very simple & just inlaid the beautiful Leaf-Filled Flourish after inking it in PTI Aqua Mist & SSS Mint Candy.  

The panel was inked in HA Cornflower & spritzed heavily with Perfect Pearls. The sentiment from On the Line was stamped several times in the same ink.  Love being able to use the flower center from Prima Donna Petals for small blooms.  

I inked them with SSS Apricot, covered them in Stickles & added tiny blue gems.  These inks were the closest I could get to MFT Color Challenge 75. 'Tis the Season

We've had an eventful week.  Fritz was diagnosed with pancreatitis--fortunately not severe.  He seems to be more like his old self & no vomiting, so that's a relief. May be on prescription food the rest of his life, so I'm looking for a job--just kidding!  Small price to pay to have a healthy puppy dog. Hubby located a man in his 90s who was on his dad's ship in WWII.  They didn't know each other, but hubby is going to meet him soon. Turns out he lives near a cousin, so hubby will see her as well. Fritz & I will hold down the fort & hopefully I'll get a lot done.  Still no laptop, but I plan to get it today one way or the other! Yesterday we actually had a few hours of rain--such a relief. 
It'd be crazy not to get a card done for EH Mix it Up with Avery Elle--$50 gc is the prize!  

I stamped AE Winter Wreath & the sentiment in Brilliance Pearlescent Ivy & covered the berries in Stickles Christmas Red.  

EH Leaping Deer is die cut from textured, shimmery dark beige cardstock & layered 3 high. Monochrome Color Pop

Missed last week's PTI MIM, but was determined to play along this week.  I don't have my laptop in spite of the repair shop saying "Wednesday at the latest"--not a happy camper!  The pc is set up for hubby & gives me eye & neck strain if I'm on for more than a few minutes.  All day to write one post!  

Anyway--the Garden Guild cover plate does take some work to cut, so I haven't used it much.  It really is beautiful & I love how it looks die cut from Cocoa Bean.  The individual leaves are die cut from Fine Linen & everything is attached to a Classic Kraft panel. The word from Don't Forget to Write is die cut 3 times from Melon Berry & is covered with Wink of Stella.  

The stamped words are from that kit, too.  I started to add some bling, but decided to leave it as is.  I'm also entering HLS Anything Goes with Dies, Die Cut Divas & Word Art Wednesday. Thanks for your patience as I slowly get to your blogs.  Next week should be much better.

Christmas in August!

If you know me, it's no surprise to see another Christmas card on my blog.  They are my favorite to make & those are the products that tempt me the most.  In fact, I gave in when there was an additional 25% off the close-out price at MFT.  Those stamps & dies just arrived, but while I was waiting I took out the MFT Spring Wreath die to use for Color Challenge 74.  I find any wreath can be used for any season.  They're one of my favorite images.  

I placed the 2 die cuts in the negative cut from scrap paper while I sponged with green inks.  Then I layered them & added the bow from the same set done in the purple & turquoise--as close as I could get to the colors.  I covered it with Wink of Stella & added a clear gem.  My gem collection is huge, so decided to use a couple different sizes to embellish the wreath as well.  The background mat is a light gray cardstock cut with MFT In & Out Stitched Rounded Squares & I added green splatters before attaching the wreath.  The sentiment from W&W In Bloom: Frenchy's Festive Florals was cut from the same gray cardstock & is clear embossed a couple times. Hard to see, but the card front has texture from PTI linen impression plate & the panel is mounted with thin fun foam. I'm also entering CAS-ual Fridays, CCC, The Playground, SSS Wednesday & Die Cut Divas.  My laptop needs a new part, so may get a little behind in commenting.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Shimmery, Sparkly Note

Time for another Penny Black Saturday Challenge.  This month we're asking for shaped cards--anything except square or rectangle. 

I used Heidi Swapp Raspberry & Ocean Color Shine mists. They were on close-out & what a great deal as the sheen is just gorgeous!  The hummer & the background were done by spraying & the frame was done with a brush.  This is the first time I've used the PB Let's Fly hummingbird die which cut beautifully using a simple shim even though it's detailed.  

I added Stickles to the solid die cut & made the eye with black Nuvo drops.  The sentiment from an old PB set was stamped several times using Brilliance Graphite Black.  I'm entering SSS Wednesday, Die Cut Divas & Word Art Wednesday. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
