Hello & 4th of July

Stella's Card
Another post with 2 very different cards.  First up is another entry for CCCB who is celebrating 6 yrs with Case the Designer.  I admire Stella's clean, fresh & beautiful style.  She often uses stripes which I find so appealing & she's a sweetheart!  I was inspired to make a 4th of July card using a large & very old plastic template with a blending tool & Distress Ink festive berries.
Also used one of my first Spellbinder dies that happened to be the right size for the Peddler's Pack sentiment stamped in Brilliance Mediterranean Blue. The Tim Holtz star cut from silver glitter paper has been laying on my table since the holidays. I'm also entering CAS Mix Up.

Next is my second card using the embossing over watercolor technique. Zig markers were used for the watercolors & the floral images are Hero Arts Layering For You Flowers plus a small one from a set I can't remember.  The scalloped edges are a PPP die & this is my first time to use the Neat & Tangled Painted Hello. I heat embossed the word in white & then colored over it with COPIC RV19 to match the Zig. Finished off with some green PPP sequins.  Fun to make a CAS card with black white space!  I'm entering these challenges:  a2z Scrapbooking, ABNH, Little Tangles, Curtain Call & CASology.

Christmas & Spring

2 totally different cards & both were really fun to make.
I don't always get a card made for Merry Monday, but couldn't miss their 200th challenge!  I chose the color option: red, green, kraft & white.  The sweet holly dies are Taylored Expression & the sentiment dies are Ellen Hutson--love the font!  The leaves are covered in Stickles Holly & the berries in Diamond Glaze.  The sentiment is stacked 3 high & white embossed.  I used a WRMK embossing folder & made the frame from Lil' Inker stitched Rectangles.  About time I used some of my ribbon! I'm also entering Ellen Hutson's Mix It Up with Taylored Expressions & HLS Christmas Challenge.

Card by Ros
It's also a special week at CCCB--their 6th birthday! Each designer picked one of their cards for us to CASE. I started with my super talented friend, Ros.  I love everything about her card & you can see how I used the design & elements in my card.
I didn't have any netting, so instead I used a Hero Arts stencil & my new Heidi Swapp Art Screen Ink, white, that I got in a close out.  It's a beautiful metallic which I didn't even know until today. The flower & sentiment are from Verve Simply Amazing & the leaves are 4enScrap.  I used Distress Inks peacock feathers, picked raspberry, scattered straw & wild honey so I can also enter Verve's Tropical Chic Challenge.  PPP clear dots finish it off & the panel is mounted with fun foam since it's heading across the ocean.  I'm also entering Stamplorations Flash Stencil Party, SSS Monday & Little Tangles Die-Cutting Challenge. Thanks so much for taking time to visit my blog.
Edited to Add: thanks to Bonnie, I'm also entering CAS Mix Up.
Edited to Add: also entering the friendship linky party at Virginia's View.

Hello from Oregon

Grab Our Blinky!Time for a new challenge at Words 2 Craft By. Here's the quote to inspire you by Byron Caldwell Smith:  "Our spring has come at last with the soft laughter of April suns and shadow of April showers."  Gave me a chance to use a wonderful old (over 10 years) Magenta umbrella stamp.

I stamped it at an angle & heat embossed the image on watercolor paper.  Coloring was done with purple, teal & yellow Zig markers & a waterbrush. Then I covered the image & area around it with Wink of Stella--such a great shimmery effect!

The frame was made from spellbinder dies which I black embossed several times to get it smooth & shiny. The sentiment is labeled 1998 & is from an Oregon Company called Peddler's Pack. Hope you'll check out the wonderful work of my teammates & join us at Words 2 Craft By. I'm entering at Die Cut DivasRetro Rubber & SSS Monday. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
Edited to add: Thanks for the link, Jeannie--very creative idea for your Dragonfly Journeys challenges!

A Card & A Magnet

I love the PTI Create Along with Us challenges during release weeks.  There's never a lack of inspiration, that's for sure!  I needed to make a card for my sister as one of her best friends just lost her 22 yr old son in a car accident.  They no longer live in the same state. I know my sister is heartbroken & feels so helpless not to be able to give her friend a hug in person.
Maile's one layer card is simple & beautiful--perfect for what I wanted to make.  My first thought was to use a rose image, but changed my mind to the lovely ferns from PTI Meadow Greens.
The Rock n Roll technique was done with Limeade Ice & Simply Chartreuse.  The sentiment is from Wonderful Words: Hello & is stamped in Ripe Avacado.  I added some little splatters & rounded the corners for softness.  I'm also entering the CAS challenge at ATSM, AAA Cards, & One Layer Simplicity.

Next is my entry for the April Memory Box Challenge--Anything But a Card.  I collect magnets & it's fun to make them, too.
The Sizzix frame was cut from self-adhesive fun foam & cardstock.  The frame was foiled & the background was stamped with a Flourishes sentiment & Magenta splatter stamp.  The MB Moonlight Butterfly was also cut from the foam & covered with Elizabeth Craft Cool Highlights glitter.  Decided to bling it up with clear gems & a plastic floral sticker.
I picked up the MB Arianna Sprig die in a sale not too long ago & I love it!  I foiled the intricate blossom, same as the frame, & cut off the leaf so I could attach it where I wanted. For the life of me I couldn't find my magnet strip, but I saved one that came in the mail, so used that. Really fun project that will make a nice little gift for someone.  I'm also entering Word Art Wednesday.   Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.

Guest Designing for The Challenge, Take 2

I'm so honored to be the featured designer at The Challenge this month.  The second week is a color challenge: Hot Pink, Green, Teal & Yellow.
I hadn't put away my Penny Black Stickeroos after making this card & I realized this image with the cute bike riding gal had colors that were pretty close to the inspiration photo.
I used Stickles on her top & the pink flower centers.  Tiny black gems decorate her skirt & some clear dot stickers add a bit more pink in the spoke centers.  The leaves are Penny Black, bow is Pretty Pink Posh, sentiment is PTI & card front stitching is Lil' Inker. I have a blogging friend in mind for this one, so will be sticking it in the mail soon.  Hope you'll check out the work of the super talented DT & join the fun this week.  I'm also entering Dies R Us (scalloped tag), Die Cut Divas & Word Art Wednesday.  Thanks so much for the sweet comments--I really appreciate all of you!

Another Birthday Card

My MFT wishlist is getting pretty long, so decided I better get back to entering the MFT challenges for a chance at a gift certificate!  I was able to combine the current Sketch Challenge & Color Challenge plus I'm entering SSS Wednesday, AAA Cards, Dies R Us, The Playground (not playing for the prize) & Twofers.
I happen to have Blu Raspberry felt, so was determined to use it for one of my elements which turned out to be a flower using MFT Prima Donna Petals dies.  MFT Dizzy Doily was cut from cardstock close in color to Persimmon & I used some sticker dots for the Coral Crush. Prima Donna Petals leaves were cut from vellum & then dry embossed.  One of my newest MFT stamp sets is Totally Happy & I opened it to use the Birthday sentiment which I stamped in Memento Gray Flannel 3 times using my Mini MISTI.  The white strip down the side was brushed with MFT Glitter Glaze--gives a beautiful, subtle shine & sparkle.
We had a great day with hubby's daughter & her husband yesterday.  Fritz was really good--liked getting more attention!  Thanks so much for stopping by.
