Baby Cards

Fritz & I have become friends with neighbors we walk by every day.  They have an almost 4 year old adorable little girl & now a new baby boy.  I didn't know the sex of the baby, so I made 2 cards to be ready once baby arrived.  The blocks image is from a local company that went out of business years ago & the sentiment is from an Easter/Baby set from The Craft's Meow--also no longer in business.
Here's the first card I made--intuition?!
I did emboss resist with DO cracked pistachio, removed color with a wet brush inside the blocks & then painted them with DO faded jeans.  Love how the sentiment matches by using the blue DO ink for stamping.  The dots are made with a PTI die from Mix & Mat Flourishes.  I'm entering WAW & SSS National Craft Month.

Here's the girl version--also emboss resist but with DO worn lipstick applied heaviest in the center of the image.  I colored in the outside of the blocks with a white extra fine Sharpie--worked great!
The word is stamped in Brilliance Starlite Black several times using my stamp positioner.  For the left side of the card front I used the same ink to stamp the border from Winnie & Walter Scenery Stripes: 2.  I attached the panel with foam tape & decided against adding embellishments.  Hopefully my sister can use this card as there always seems to be someone at her church having a baby.  I'm entering AAA Cards, & SSS National Craft Month.
I also made a card & got a little gift for the big sister who always calls out "It's Greta & Fritz!" whenever she sees us--such a cutie pie.  Not a typical kid card, but hopefully she'll like it.
She likes bright colors & I LOVED using a bit of the beautiful Lawn Fawn plaid papers I've been storing--haha!  The word die from Winnie & Walter was stacked 3 high with the top layer covered in yellow Stickles.  Inside I wrote a note saying the baby was lucky to have her for a big sister.  She's doing well, but of course some problems at times having to share mommy after 4 years of having all her attention.  I'm entering WAW & SSS National Craft Month.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

  17. Darling cards Greta, and what a sweet thing to remember the big sister. Often times they get left out and that makes adjusting to a new sib even more difficult.
