I was without my laptop for a few days, so got further behind in visiting blogs. We're in for a hot weekend, so won't be working outside & I'll catch up with you soon.
I was about to give up on the PTI MIM challenge: Emboss Resist Shadow Sentiments. I only have a couple big word stamps & they have a design which didn't work at all! Last night I decided to make a fun foam stamp with the Wonderful Words: Hello die & it worked!
Obviously, I moved my stamp more than Ashley did, but I think it's still OK. For the resist I used stencil brushes with Winter Wisteria, Lovely Lady & Tropical Teal. For just a bit of interest & texture, I partially embossed the dots from an Echo Park folder that's one of my favorites. The butterfly from Butterfly Hope was stamped in the same inks & die cut. I added clear sticker dots & the sentiment from the same set. Love having matching cardstock for the PTI inks. I'm also entering ATSM & Word Art Wednesday.
Next is another splash of color card, but with 6 colors! Yep--used another little bit of my rainbow swiped piece.
The little flowers are from SSS Hello Friends (2015) & I used an ink applicator tool to color the centers with the same Distress Inks. I added a drop of Nuvo White Blizzard glitter drops & stamped the sentiment from SSS Warm Wishes (2014). Most of my US friends probably don't want me to send them any more sunshine than they have--haha! I'm entering SSS Flickr #76, Retro Rubber & Word Art Wednesday. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
Well we could certainly do with some sunshine here today Greta. It's dark and dismal and pouring with rain!
ReplyDeleteTwo super cards Greta. I love the colours on the first and the Hello stamp works a treat. The second is a very pretty CAS card and the jewel centres look very pretty on the little flowers. Barbxx
Great technique and pretty colours on your first card and glad you did not give up. Such a CAS beauty on the second card and such a cue rainbow stripe x
ReplyDeleteGreta, I love your beautiful butterfly card! That color combination is a keeper!
ReplyDeleteI think your sunshine/rainbow card is fabulous! The rainbow strip is gorgeous - stunning. Then I like that you've kept the rest simple and added in a few coloured drops to pick up the colour. CAS and clever - I love it! Thank you so much for joining us at Retro Rubber for our rainbow colour challenge.
ReplyDeletelove the soft colors in your first card and that bit of rainbow on the second one is just the right accent!
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely cards, Greta! Love the first card with the butterfly, colors, and sentiment...so soft and dreamy! Second card is fun with the rainbow strip and pretty flowers! Hope it cools down there soon! Temps declined a tad here, but it's still quite humid. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeletewonderful set of cards, greta!! your take on the MIM technique is amazing and spot on!! the flowers on the second one are just too sweet!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Greta. Well done on making your own stamp. And your second card is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteI love that soft look of the first card. Even the embossing is soft! Your diy stamp worked just fine. The second card is bright and happy. That is a great use of the leftover stripe. And no, we don't need anymore sunshine here. Please save it for the wintertime. Then it will be needed!
ReplyDeleteWonderful cards! Love the rainbow one, clean and sweet. Thank you for sharing your card with ATSM!
ReplyDeleteHi Greta, you did a wonderful job meeting the challenge, I'm impressed that you could make a stamp from a die... awesome! Beautiful cards. Take care, Shirleyxx
ReplyDeleteLove the soft background and butterfly on your first card and rainbow on the second. Fab cards
ReplyDeleteLove the soft background on your card. So pretty with that butterfly. And I really like the white CAS card with the rainbow strip.

ReplyDeleteYou are always so creative with your takes on challenges! Just making a foam stamp from a die and you can play - brilliant! The second card is sweet and fun! You should also enter it at the AAA Cards Challenge "CAS rainbow" - it's perfect for it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever way to get into the challenge with your pretty first card. Love the effect you created with the shadow embossing and the colours are beautiful. By contrast the second on is crisp and clean and no less attractive, beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteDarling cards both, Greta. Your cards are sure to make smiles happen.
ReplyDeleteSo, so pretty! How clever to repeat the dots from your embossed background to the butterfly. Good job on creating your shadow too. I like the CAS simplicity of your second card.
ReplyDeleteGreta, congrats on your win!!!
ReplyDeleteGreta, lol, yes, I did think to myself, darn it, if I only waited a few more minutes to post... Happy for your win.
DeleteCongratulations on your win, Greta! If it's truly random, I missed it by one. Have fun adding to your cart.
ReplyDeleteGreta, the rainbow card is sweet CAS perfection. The strip on the side pulls it altogether. And, yes, no additional sunshine necessary where I live. Even my girls hate to go out in this heat. Thanks for sharing your card with Retro Rubber this challenge. Love to Fritz....
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute CAS card! I really love how you used the rainbow inspiration for this creation. Thank you for playing along with us at Retro Rubber and hope to see you in the gallery again soon.
