Last night I finally finished a card for EH Pin-Sights Challenge. The inspiration is so beautiful--I'd totally have that cake & bouquet if I could go back in time! I've been trying to design a card with EH Bold Blossoms die cut from gold cardstock with a pink & orange background--inspired by the cake. Yesterday morning I watched Jennifer's video using the old acrylic block technique & decided that would be perfect.
I used DI picked raspberry & ripe persimmon. One thing I learned from the video was to leave the block in place for 5 minutes. That gave me gorgeous, deep colors which I'll use for another card. This piece was done by spritzing again without adding more ink, so it's a bit lighter. The Hero Arts sentiment from Find Joy was stamped several times in HA Cup O' Joe using my Mini MISTI & I added tiny splatters of the brown. Tried something new--added a drop of gold Pico Embellisher to the gold PPP sequins. This will be a birthday card for a blogging friend. I'm also entering ABNH, DRU, Paru's CMC & SSS Wednesday. Thanks so much for stopping by.
Happy 4th July Greta. Your two card are perfect for the occasions and loving the warm blend of inks on the third.

ReplyDeleteThe red, white and blue colours are perfect for the patriotic cards Greta. Love the embossed background on those. I looked at that video too about the watercolour background - yours turned out perfectly and the gold accent is lovely. Beautifully photographed too.
ReplyDeleteHappy Independence Day Greta!! I love your darling little pinwheels on the star embossed backgrounds. Cute cards. Your Pin-Sights card is lovely. Great job with the background!
ReplyDeleteWhat super 4th July cards these are! And so unusual! Love the stamped over sponging and those pinwheels. I too watched Jen's video and you rocked that technique Greta! What a gorgeous BG for your flowers and a fabulous card too!
ReplyDeleteThose little pinwheels are the cutest. Perfect for the 4th of July. I hope you had a bang up time. I watched JM's video too and want to try it. Your card is beautiful and I hope mine works as well. Waiting the 5 minutes is a good idea to let the ink really sink in. I love the flowers and I didn't know what gold pico was so I tried to look it up. I found Hotels in Pico, Lazio! Did finally find it at SSS.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous 4th of July cards and wonderful floral one too. The background ink is so vivid. The 5 minute thing is a neat idea except I've usually over misted the block and made a big watery mess of things.
ReplyDeleteI just love that pinwheel against your EF background and the bright colors are perfect on your second design. Hugs, Autumn
