Roses and Roses
Hubby's pain from the kidney stone is gone--now if only the gout would go away. I spent the last 2 mornings working in the roses which were in full bloom when we got home from camping. I love roses, but I don't love the work required--haha! It is worth it, though, to have a bouquet like this in the house.
Speaking of roses, finally got my card done for Winnie & Walter Rerun No. 19. The layout of Shay's Mother's Day card was my inspiration.
I used a Doodlebug printed paper for my graphic background & die cut rose patterned Washi tape with a PPP scalloped border die. Mini Scenery: Bed of Roses was white embossed on Bristol paper & colored with a dark red Zig blending with water. Then I brushed clear Wink of Stella over the entire panel so the areas I'd left white became a light pink & the whole panel is shimmery.
The sentiment from Big, Bold, Seasons was stamped several times with Brilliance Starlite Black & it's mounted with foam tape. Instead of pearls like Shay, I used Rose Water & Key Lime Nuvo Jewell Drops. I'll use this for a blogging friend's birthday card. I'm also entering Die Cut Divas, Time Out & Word Art Wednesday. LOVE the roses on your pretty card and (those from your garden too!). The shimmer is a wonderful effect. That's some fabulous Washi Tape you die cut too. It gives the roses a bit of a vintage feel. So happy hubby's pain is gone. Hope the gout goes away too!!

The roses IRL are beautiful. My grandpa had them lined along his driveway and they were lovely but he was always out there pruning, spraying and weeding. Your card is a wonderful rose garden with gorgeous shine. I'm glad hubbys kidney pain is gone and hope the gout clears up soon.

ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! I used to belong to the Shasta society of roses, and have some, but your right, they are a lot of work, especially in the Redding heat! I love roses with alot of petals and my fragrant cloud is my favorite because its a ten on the smell! Have a happy week my friend!
ReplyDeleteYour roses are pretty and so is your card, glad to hear that hubby has no more pain. We have some roses in our backyard too, but it is easy to take care since they have irrigation, I just trim them once in a while and they grow wild in hot weather.

Love your card with the bold roses on the panel and the tiny sprigs on the scalloped piece. Wink of Stella adds that certain touch of class. Lovely work.
