Maile's Card |
Oh boy is it hot here-- can't even walk Fritz! Definitely a crockpot day! We're so lucky, though, not to be suffering with floods or fires--so many people's lives devastated.
It's always a tough choice to pick a DT project for PTI Create Along with Us. I decided to go with one of Maile's cards featuring her new Splits set. Right now I just have one, but plan to add a lot of the others to my collection eventually. I always print out the PTI color combos & sketches, so browsed my notebook to get some ideas for colors to use with Stormy Sea. Gotta say, the Mini MISTI is so worth having as it lets you stamp with lighter colors. This card is for a blogging friend going through a tough time, so I wanted beautiful & cheery colors. I ended up with Autumn Rose, Aqua Mist & Lavender Moon. I love the layout, but next time I'll make each strip a bit bigger. Love using Star Dust Stickles instead of coloring the image. Hopefully it's close enough to qualify for CTS & SSS Wednesday. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by. Can't do anything outside, so guess I'll "have" to make cards--haha!
Hope it cools down soon. Fritz needs his walk:) I like my mini MISTI to,at first I didn't think I need it. What a beautiful card,Greta! Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI like this color combo and you're right about the Stickles!! Sometimes sparkle IS better than color! This is pretty Greta and your blogging friend will appreciate it so very much. I'm with you on this HOT weather. I sure hope we have a nice fall so we can get outside more and enjoy it!!

ReplyDeleteLovely card Greta...love the colors and the sparkles! And don't you just LOVE the splits sets...so easy and fun to work with!! Hot and humid here too, but I'm trying not to complain as I know what comes after Fall (which is waaay too short by the way!!)!

ReplyDeleteyour take on maile's card is beautiful, greta!!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are so pretty, Greta! Clean and crisp! Love the colors and a perfect take on the challenge! We are having welcomed rain right now and cooler temps in the 70's for tomorrow! Hope you get some cooler temps soon, too!
ReplyDeleteGreta, this is a gorgeous take on the inspiration card! LOVE your color choices, so classy! Thanks for playing with us at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge!
ReplyDeleteFabulous Greta. Beautiful colours and love the way your have done the split
ReplyDeleteYour card is a beautiful card inspired by Mailes. Great idea to print out the color combos. We have had that kind of heat too, where the sidewalk burns Molly's feet. Sometimes Mother Nature just wants us to make cards.
ReplyDeleteIt has been too hot here on the east coast too. Lovely take on Maile's inspiration!
ReplyDeleteUnseasonably cool here, almost fall-like. Hope you cool off soon! Love the stickle coloring on the sentiment, Greta!!
ReplyDeleteGreat take on that card remake. Love your colours and the stamp you chose.
ReplyDeleteYou did Maile proud, Greta! The card is gorgeous, love the stickles too! I feel your 'hot' pain, believe me! And we in the Central CA Valley, get to breathe the smoke from the fires going on around us! Not a good thing! Longing for Fall!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work!
ReplyDeleteYou did an excellent CASE of Maile's card, Greta! I love your color choices and your sparkles! Hope it cools off for you soon; today was SO much cooler down here, thank goodness!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteLove your color combo on your Maile look-alike card, Greta! With all the natural disasters throughout our country, I hated to complain about the heat...but I'm glad it cooled down.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards, I love your version of the lay-out, the angle at the bottom is fantastic. It's been very hot here as well, we melted at the wedding on Saturday but today it's a cool day, the first in a very long time, it's a huge relief. Take care xxx
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous Greta!
ReplyDeleteI love that minimalistic style especially when it is done with such great taste!
xx
Such a pretty color combination! Love it! So sorry it's so hot - we've actually had a couple of amazing cool days for August. Hope it cools off enough for you and Fritz to get out!
ReplyDeleteStuck inside, forced to make cards; such a sad story! Your card is very lovely. I like the whimsy added to the greeting. Quite nifty. The touch of glitter makes it perfect.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love it! Great CASE! One of those "wish I'd thought of that" kind of things. I've seen on the news how hot it is up there. Our son came down from Eugene over the weekend just to get away from it. Hope that's over and done with soon!
ReplyDeleteOH, Greta, your card is simply beautiful. I love how the pretty colors pop against all that fabulous white space. Lovely take on Maile's card and the CTS. (It sure looks like a "winner" to me.)
ReplyDeleteSO sorry you've had some HOT days. Hope it has gotten better.
Can you believe it? We were blessed with about 12 consecutive days with lots of rain and much cooler temperatures in the 70s and 80s. It's unheard of, for August. What a welcome relief it was from our normal HOT HOT August days in the high 90s and 100s. ♥
A lovely card Greta and I love the colour combination. Barbxx
ReplyDeleteGreta, LOOK! You got a well-deserved HM from CTS!!! Congratulations! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteOH Greta, this is fabulous. I am definitely going to have to case it.
ReplyDeleteHi Greta, I love your cards, they're varied in style, not all one things,
