Thinking of You

Maile's Card

Oh boy is it hot here-- can't even walk Fritz! Definitely a crockpot day!  We're so lucky, though, not to be suffering with floods or fires--so many people's lives devastated.
It's always a tough choice to pick a DT project for PTI Create Along with Us. I decided to go with one of Maile's cards featuring her new Splits set. Right now I just have one, but plan to add a lot of the others to my collection eventually. I always print out the PTI color combos & sketches, so browsed my notebook to get some ideas for colors to use with Stormy Sea. Gotta say, the Mini MISTI is so worth having as it lets you stamp with lighter colors.  This card is for a blogging friend going through a tough time, so I wanted beautiful & cheery colors.  I ended up with Autumn Rose, Aqua Mist & Lavender Moon.  I love the layout, but next time I'll make each strip a bit bigger.
Love using Star Dust Stickles instead of coloring the image.  Hopefully it's close enough to qualify for CTS & SSS Wednesday. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by. Can't do anything outside, so guess I'll "have" to make cards--haha!

  16. Your card is a beautiful card inspired by Mailes. Great idea to print out the color combos. We have had that kind of heat too, where the sidewalk burns Molly's feet. Sometimes Mother Nature just wants us to make cards.

  20. You did Maile proud, Greta! The card is gorgeous, love the stickles too! I feel your 'hot' pain, believe me! And we in the Central CA Valley, get to breathe the smoke from the fires going on around us! Not a good thing! Longing for Fall!

  23. Gorgeous cards, I love your version of the lay-out, the angle at the bottom is fantastic. It's been very hot here as well, we melted at the wedding on Saturday but today it's a cool day, the first in a very long time, it's a huge relief. Take care xxx

  27. Oh, I love it! Great CASE! One of those "wish I'd thought of that" kind of things. I've seen on the news how hot it is up there. Our son came down from Eugene over the weekend just to get away from it. Hope that's over and done with soon!

  28. OH, Greta, your card is simply beautiful. I love how the pretty colors pop against all that fabulous white space. Lovely take on Maile's card and the CTS. (It sure looks like a "winner" to me.)

SO sorry you've had some HOT days. Hope it has gotten better.

Can you believe it? We were blessed with about 12 consecutive days with lots of rain and much cooler temperatures in the 70s and 80s. It's unheard of, for August. What a welcome relief it was from our normal HOT HOT August days in the high 90s and 100s. ♥
