Thankful
I'm back from my trip to California, but for some reason it's taking a long time to resume my routine. Slowly I'm getting to your blogs, so don't think I've forgotten you. Always great to see my sister. We'd love to live close to each other, but neither of us wants to live where the other one does! Laurie is a foster mom for infants & her current little guy is a month old. Had to help her out by holding & feeding him--haha!
Archie the Maltese accepted me right away, trying to keep me from missing Fritz! Most of you probably already saw Darnell's post. What a treat to be invited to The Playhouse! Have to say, didn't seem like a first meeting at all, but rather like old friends--well, not TOO old--haha! Kim & Harriett were also just as I thought--sweet, crafty gals I'd enjoy getting together with if I lived nearby.
Finally did manage to make a card last night. The stamps & dies are PTI Ombre Builders & Counting My Blessings. The Distress Inks are abandoned coral, ripe persimmon, wild honey & fossilized amber.
I stacked the die cut & clear embossed the top brown layer. Added a gold thread nest & 3 little gold stickers. Luckily it fits several challenges: PTI MIM, SSS Monday, Time Out Challenges & Pixie's Snippets Playground. Thanks so much for your patience & continued interest in my blog.
The lined background is so pretty in fall colours and your word and embellishments tie in beautifully.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post Greta with some super photos. You and your sister look very alike. I sadly don't have any siblings but my best friend of many years, Pat, and I said several years ago we feel like sisters. I bet Fritz was glad to see you home again. Sure you missed him too.

Great post Greta. So fun to meet in person other crafty gals. I finally found a local group of ladies to craft with here in MD, but it took about a year. Your card is lovely and I love the colors. Glad that you had time with your sister and also had a little 4 legged companionship, I am sure that made the Fritz separation easier to bear. You and your sister look fabulous together. Yikes I am rambling on...enjoy easing back into the routine. Glad you are home safe.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely picture of you and your sister. How fun to hold a new baby, it's been a long time since I got to do that. Archie is so cute! I think it's wonderful that you got to meet up with Darnell, Kim and Harriett and you got to see the Playhouse. That's on my bucket list. I love meeting other stampers and exchanging ideas. Your card is very pretty. If I'm away from my crafting for any length of time it is hard to get started again. I guess you need to make something every day.
