Friend to Friend

September 1st & already there are signs that Fall is just around the corner.  I snapped this picture of our neighbor's tree while walking Fritz today. I love early Fall in the Pacific Northwest with warm days & cool nights & usually not a lot of rain yet. I didn't want to miss another Impression Obsession challenge & realized this gorgeous leaf stamp had not yet been inked.  I masked off a section & pulled out my neglected Kaleidacolor Autumn Leaves rainbow ink pad.  Then I over-stamped the leaves with Delicata Golden Glitz.
I drew the borders & inked the sentiment (masking off the other words) with Memento Rich Cocoa. Finished off with splotches of Distress Stain Tarnished Brass--again--LOL!  One layer cards are not my strength--usually they get cut apart & layered. Fun to finish one that seems OK as is & can be mailed without extra postage.
Both stamps are IO, but didn't come in packages with names or numbers.  I'm also entering the Lovely Leaves challenge at Curtain Call & Anything Goes at SSS Wed. Thanks so much for stopping by.
Edited to Add: Thanks to Darnell, I found the challenge at Words 2 Scrap By & am entering there. Also entering SSS Work It Wednesday.

  7. Your neighbor's tree is a beautiful inspiration. Your card makes me ready for fall. Our leaves haven't started changing yet but I've seen the squirrels going about their collecting so it can't be far behind. I love the reds, oranges and yellows of fall and your card captured that perfectly.

Your card is gorgeous! And, I loved your step-by-step explanation of the process you used to create such a wonderful one-layer card. I don't usually have much success with those myself, but this is really fabulous. :)

  27. Autumn is my absolute favourite season - crisp air! The scent of wood fires inside! Dead mosquitoes! (Well, it's not all romantic, lol!) This card is utterly elegant - I have that Kaleidacolor pad & I should get it out to play!
