Red, White & Blue

As you may have noticed, I've not been very productive lately.  Puppy Fritz has turned my world on end taking almost all my time when I'm not at work. Apparently, Mr Mojo isn't getting enough attention--hard to make a card worth posting. However, I was determined to get one 4th of July card made.  My sister would be very disappointed not to get one.  I love vellum & use it quite a bit, so thought I'd make one for the PTI MIM challenge.  I wanted to use a technique I learned when I began stamping years ago. You stamp a solid image on the card front & the outline image on a vellum overlay--not necessarily exactly lined up. I've always loved that look, but hadn't done it for a long time.  I used the star from PTI Framed Out 1 stamped in Brilliance Rocket Red. Since there isn't an outline star in the set, I used my Quickie Glue pen to draw the outline on the vellum & dumped on prisma glitter--very simple.  The sentiment is from the Oregon company--Peddler's Pack--& is stamped in Brilliance Mediterranean Blue.  The card front stitching is done with the Lil' Inkers die.  Turns out my card meets the requirements at City Crafter (first time entering there) & SSS Monday & SSS Wed. I do appreciate hearing from you & will keep in touch the best I can.  Enjoy your weekend.

  14. I figured that Fritz was using up your down time, Great, and that's understandable! He will eventually settle and you can have a routine again that includes crafting time. Thank you for stopping and catching up at my place! I love your 4th of July card and the stamping/overlay technique you used! I'll bet it is sparkly IRL and I'm sure your sister will love it! I'm not even going to get one made this year, so you are doing better than me! I'm taking some down time myself to implode the Playhouse before it explodes!! Happy 4th weekend if we don't talk again before!! Hugs, Darnell

  25. Beautiful card Greta, the vellum is very elegant it looks great with the stars. I've also scrolled through all the other beauties that I've missed. It's been busy here but for different reasons than you. My two cats are not as much work as your adorable Fritz. I have a lot going on along with family visiting, crafting time is difficult to find. I've also had a lot of trouble with blogger, at times I just can't get into blogs, it might be our Internet system. Take good care, Shirleyx

  29. Great card. I love the vellum and bright sparkly stars. Your ribbon is perfect! Dogs take a lot of time. They are like little kids, just want you to pay attention to them. They return that love over and over again.

  30. Fritz time sounds like fabulous time! As Darnell mentioned, he'll eventually become more 'independent' and your crafting opportunities will increase. For now, enjoy every moment of his puppyhood; they grow up too quickly (as do nieces and nephews!!) Your 4th of July card and the stamping/overlay technique you've used is absolutely eye-catching delightful! Vellum and I have an 'iffy' relationship (translation: I struggle with it), but you've obviously mastered how to use it to full effect. Your sister will love it immensely. Happy 4th of July to you for tomorrow; hope you have some wonderful celebrations planned!! Mega hugs coming your way (and several extra for Mr. Fritz!!) ~c

  32. I completely understand the puppy-related mojo loss. I swear Mimi waits until I am happily sitting at my desk to do all the bad stuff. I'm glad you got the time to make this for your sister - I love how it turned out! - and I hope you get the chance to settle back into regular creating soon. Whenever my mojo goes on vacation (why don't I ever get to go with? lol) I find that just sitting down & futzing around with stamps & paper regularly can bring it back. I make some pretty trash in the meantime :)
