Seems like a year since I made a card or wrote a blog post! We ended up taking a very long road trip & bringing home our new family member--9 month old Fritz. Debated about whether or not we could use the name we'd chosen & in the end we both felt this is our Fritz. We've had some issues to deal with--nothing that is the puppy's fault--just the involved people--won't go into that. He's a doll & was already housebroken. He doesn't know his name is Fritz, so we're working on that. He's also quite the jumper (turned my back & he jumped onto the counter next to the sink!), so can't run loose in the house. Life is not back to normal & today is my first time to turn on the computer, but I wanted you to know I'm still here. I made this wall hanging using a kraft bag as therapy after we lost Keesha. I didn't post it then, so thought I'd share it now. This wonderful stamp is by JudiKins--hope you can read some of the quotes. I brushed the
edges with Gesso & embellished with die cut leaves, felt & cork die cut flowers & this cute felt bone sticker.
I'm anxious to see what you've all been up to, but my time will still be pretty limited for awhile. Good thing I have some more days off before hubby has puppy duty alone--LOL!
Edited to add: Thank you, Carol, for the info on the new challenge at Eileen Hull & I'll enter my wall hanging there.
Congratulations, Momma! What a handsome fella! Enjoy! Oh, and I love your wall hanging with the wonderful quotes and burlap!
ReplyDeletewelcome back, greta!! missed you, my friend... fritz is a cutie! the wall hanging is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThis is good news, Greta! Fritz looks very happy to be with you! Enjoy your time off with him! Miss your beautiful cards. . . .
ReplyDeleteWelcome back home Greta. Fritz looks like a handsome pup! So glad he's arrived in your lives. Your wall hanging is perfect. Thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back from your long journey, Great, figuratively, too! Fritz looks very comfortable with you, like he belongs. He's very handsome. How awesome that he is already house-broken! It does sound like he may think he's a cat, however, with that jumping, but I know you'll be able to discuss this with him reasonably!
ReplyDeleteI love your sweet doggie wall hanging! Thank you for sharing. I look forward to having you back online as much as Fritz and going back to work will allow. All the best! Hugs, Darnell
Congrats on the new arrival! I agree with the others: Fritz looks like he's perfectly happy with his new momma and poppa! He also sounds pretty frisky, with his jumping on the counter! Acrobatic and athletic - he'll keep you too hopping with this puppy shenanigans for sure! Happy to the nth degree that you're home safely and happily; missed you immensely! Your wall-hanging is so sweet - and so glad you shared. You know...there's a challenge over at Ellen Hull, where we're invited to share our 3-D creations - and I think your creation would fit perfectly. The added incentive: the theme is "New Beginnings" and with new puppy in your lives, well...'nuff said. Here's the link: http://www.eileenhull.com/2014/03/meet-the-eileen-hull-inspiration-team.html I'm hoping to post a mini album I made for my sister-in-law that I didn't share. Hope to see you in the gallery! Huggles to Fritz, please! Hugs~c
ReplyDeleteHoly smokes he jumped up on the counter!! Sounds like he's a spunky one! He also looks like a real sweetheart Greta. I'm so VERY HAPPY for the two of you and hope how soon little Fritz settles into his new loving home. Tell him hello from Max ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Greta! Fritz is a beautiful puppy! Must be so nice that he is house broken too. The more I read about puppies, the more I realize how much work they are. But the kids and I would love to have one. I think your tribute to Keesha is very well done. And reading it will remind you how lucky you are to have Fritz now. Glad to hear all is well!

ReplyDeleteFritz is such a handsome boy! The two of you look happy together! I'm so jealous he's housebroken! Our miniature is now 2 years old and she still pees in the house! I just don't get it! She knows better! Go figure!
ReplyDeleteAww...Greta, what a DARLING photo of you and your new sweet puppy! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteWOW...I love your fabulous kraft bag creation! Beautifully done!
Isn't Fritz a handsome little guy! I so hear you on the puppy unpredictableness - well, not a word, but definitely what it is! Our 11 month old dog had many of the same issues - housebroken & not much else. But at least housebroken, right? :)
ReplyDeleteI love your wall hanging - crafting therapy is so helpful when we lose someone precious.
Fritz is sooooo cute!!! Hope you are enjoying every moment with him, Greta!!! And I LOVE your wall hanging! Absolutely precious!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new puppy, Greta!!! ENJOY!!
ReplyDeleteHe's a handsome guy and sounds like he keeps YOU very very busy. :) I love my babies very much, but they too were quite a challenge, as puppies...and even now have their moments! I have two sister's Skye & Zeva who are Dachshund Mixes (Chiweenies) part Chihuahua...and are really fun! I also have a senior Doxie box who will be 11 next month and he's very special...has some health issues (seizures and low thyroid), but is my LOVE bug and was the first one I adopted!! I can't imagine my life now...without them!!
