Luckily, I stenciled this birthday card weeks ago and hadn't posted it yet.
The stencils are HA Autumn Splendor and the inks are Altenew Moonlit Twilight--4 shades of purple. I love being able to use products for any season, just by changing the colors. The panel was embossed with SSS Refracted 3D folder. PTI Love to Layer: Soft Ridges was die cut from vellum. It covered up my imperfect stenciling and kept SSS Stitching Butterflies and Happy Birthday Brush Script from getting lost in the background. I added shimmer to the sentiment and attached a few matching enamel dots. There's a short IG video HERE. I'm entering JUGS and SSS Wednesday.
Here's the first card I've made since Fritz got sick. Finally, I felt relaxed enough to think about what to do for the PFS May Challenge and hubby offered to be on "dog duty" so I could work without interruptions. I knew I had to keep it simple, so I pulled out my old favorite Delicate Wreath stamp set.
I first inked it in Versafine Clair Grass Green. In order to add variations in color, I added Versafine Clair Green Oasis by getting the ink on a finger cot and tapping it onto areas of the stamp before restamping. Worked great--no harsh lines. Then I did the same thing to add some Versafine Clair Blue Belle. Using 3 colors really does make a difference in real life. I die cut the panel with the largest PFS Nested Diagonal Stitch Square and matted it with silver metallic cardstock. The sentiment from the stamp set was silver embossed. I added silver splatters and clear gems.
Great timing for my laptop to give up the ghost. The PC is in another room where I can't keep track of Fritz. Hubby watches him so I can have a few minutes to do things I just can't manage on my phone. I'm getting better at blog reading and leaving comments, so I'll visit you as I can. Your positive thoughts and well wishes are so appreciated.

Oh, Greta, I'm sorry to hear about Fritz. I went back to your last post to get the details. You and Steve are good dog parents and I pray that he continues to improve. I'm sorry, too, about your laptop. But your cards, as always as beautiful! I especially love the hues of the blue and white design! Big hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeletePoor little guy, so happy he's getting better. I'm sure he feels the love from you and Steve. Loving the card you entered at JUGs! That vellum panel really sets it off nicely. Thanks for playing along. I haven't used that pretty wreath in a while, you've inspired me! Too bad about your computer, ugh....
ReplyDeleteHe's making progress but it's a hard road for an older dog. I can relate. Love your cards especially the artsy blue flowers and butterflies. Such a wonderful color combination.
ReplyDeleteYour first card is lovely with so many extras that wind up looking fabulous. The vellum panel and the embossed image are standouts for me. And wreath cards always remind me of you. I am glad to hear Fritz is healing. Sending hugs and healing prayers your way.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about Fritz's troubles and hope he'll be well soon. Your stenciled background is so pretty! I love the colors and how the vellum softens the center and makes a perfect place for those butterflies to land! The wreath is gorgeous! I need to remember that trick about adding ink with a finger dauber!
ReplyDeleteSorry I missed that Fritz has these troubles and didn't post. Sending you and him best wishes and hugs for you both. BTW I love your blue flower card using my favorite color.
ReplyDeleteGreta... I love your study in blue! Just wonderful. The scalloped vellum is an insightful addition and highlights your butterflies beautifully. Thank you for sharing this treasure with Just Us Girls!
ReplyDeleteHi Greta.
ReplyDeleteYou always surprise me with your new cards. The shapes, the colors, and the lettering.
Congratulations on your beautiful work.
Hugs, Monica.
Once again, two very special and beautifully designed cards.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Currently, my posts are not appearing in the Reading List on the dashboard. Blogger is having a problem again, and I hope it gets resolved soon.
Pretty cards and steps in the right direction for Fritz, such a worry when they are poorly.
