I first tried using Orange Zest for the branches--way too much orange for me! So I turned the panel over and redid it using PTI Terracotta Tile and that worked. The rectangles were die cut with GKD Master Layouts 1 and 2. Poppystamps Proper Happy Easter was just the right size. The letters were covered with a shimmer pen which you can see in my IG post. I found the perfect tiny gems in my stash and I actually do like how this card turned out. Just don't expect to see me using a lot of orange now! 🤣 I'm also entering JUGS.
I haven't entered FMS in a long time, but the current sketch immediately caught my attention. The IO branch cling stamp is one of my favorites, so always love using it. This time I first inked the branches and random parts of the leaves in Versafine Clair Green Oasis. Then I inked the entire stamp in the lighter Grass Green--one of their newer colors. Really love how it came out. At that point, I realized I meant to stamp the splatters from Unity's Serene Silhouettes in Altenew Sand Dunes first. The branch was still in my Misti, so I stamped in Versafine and clear embossed. Then I could see exactly where I wanted the splatters, so actually worked out for the best.
The rectangles were die cut with GKD Master Layouts 2. The sweet Alex Syberia Friend die was the perfect sentiment. I liked the white card front, but decided it was time to use an old favorite element of stamping the edges. That really changed the look and I love it. Not sure they were needed, but I ended up adding white sequins.
Edited to add: Also entering WAW.

Two fabulous cards, Greta! Love the way yo'uve used the colors and the sketch with all of those wonderful leafy images!
ReplyDeleteFunny how different our colour preference are, orange is one I use often and along with teal make a fabulous combo as your two very pretty cards prove.

Both cards are amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are lovely, Greta! You did an awesome job with the Orange and Teal challenge, and I'm glad you were happy with the result. I've always been a fan of orange, but have never paired it with teal--a duo I like very much. Thanks for sharing your creativity with us at Color Hues!
ReplyDeleteLooks to me like you didn't have a challenge with the colors on the first card, Greta. You combine the colors expertly! Love the clean simplicity of the second card.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty Easter card in the Color Hues colors, Greta! Love your take on the FMS sketch too with the delicate leafy branch!!
ReplyDeleteYour combination of colours work perfectly on the foliage sprig Greta and the double mount adds just that little bit extra. So pleased you got this design in before the deadline at Color Hues! :)

So sorry you missed our last challenge, time has a way of getting away from us sometimes, doesn't it! As for these cards, they are both as pretty as can be. The Easter card was well thought out and is balanced just perfectly. Your friendship card, is delicate and light and pretty as well. Thanks for sharing your talent with us at Color Hues, Greta!
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous pair of cards, Greta. Your first card is beautiful in those colours. I love the teal eucalyptus leaves and I wish I could see the shimmer on the sentiment irl. The second card is lovely too and I love how you positioned the branch off to the side.
ReplyDeleteHope you are well,
Hugs
