The sun came out yesterday afternoon, so it was another leaf raking day for hubby & me while Fritz enjoyed a sunbath on the deck.
Some of you wanted to see my pink & purple outfit, so here you go--not exactly a glamour shot, but they are some of my old, well-loved Nordstrom casual wear. Today was cold & damp--switched to my fleece jacket instead of a sweatshirt for walking Fritz.
Last night I finally sat down to make my card for One Layer Simplicity. As soon as I saw the theme was Peace Be With You I thought of my old (2003) Penny Black stamp The Sound of Snow. My first plan didn't work--turned out all it needed was to be stamped & spritzed with Perfect Pearls! I used Versafine Majestic Blue & added the silver embossed word from Hero Arts set Happy Holly Days. Wish I had better photography skills--this is one of my all-time favorite cards even though I basically did nothing! Hubby likes it so much I'm making them for his cousins using a variety of Versafine inks. I'm also entering Penny Black & More.
I also got another tag made. As soon as I saw Marybeth's Nativity tag on Day 12 of The 25 Days of Christmas Tags, I thought of my 1998 DeNami Manger stamp. My Spellbinder dies are often neglected now, but thought the Lacy Squares was perfect for my tag. Decided to also add the little Noel which is one of my newest DeNami stamps, Christmas Greetings. I stamped in Versafine Onyx Black & then used my fine point applicator to cover it with Diamond Glaze. A bit of Stickles was added to the dots & I tied on a pretty sheer white ribbon.
This one will probably also end up on a card taking center stage. I'm also entering Stamping Sensations. Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
Gorgeous scene in blues with the silver peace sentiment, Greta - love it! Great tag too!!
ReplyDeleteI was right, you look cute as a button in your leaf raking attire!! Your card is beautiful Greta. I love how peaceful it is. Also adore your sweet nativity tag!! Thank yo so much for the STUNNING Thanksgiving that arrived today, love it!!
ReplyDeleteThank you...not thank yo LOL!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo! You'd need something warmer here right now! We've had sleet and a touch of snow. Gorgeous creations Greta, loving that Penny Black stamp! Simplicity is elegance...
ReplyDeleteyour peaceful scene is so lovely - am sure the cousins will love it
ReplyDeleteThat is the perfect leaf raking outfit and so glad you had a nice day to do it. Your card is so peaceful, that is a wonderful stamp. I like your holiday tag too.
ReplyDeleteLove the peaceful snow scene!
ReplyDeleteGreta, Looks like you had a very productive day raking and crafting. Your card is so peaceful, reminds me of a winters day where the snow is falling and all sounds are muted. Your graphic tag is quite eyecatching too!
ReplyDeleteLove this serene bluescape using PB's wonderful imagery. Your photo skills look just fine to me (but then I'm challenged with photography quite a lot). I also like the unusual nativity scene too...it's one I've not seen before. The simple charcoal on white stamping with the red scallops is quite powerful in the design. So very pretty a representation of what the season is really all about. Enjoy your leaf raking! (something else I don't enjoy!). Glad you had some sunshine to enjoy while you were at work. TFS
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit...purple is your color...very pretty!! We had a huge drop in temps today. Yesterday in the 70's, but today in the 30's with a touch of snow...brrr! Your card is simply beautiful with gorgeous nature scene! And, your tags are lovely, too, with the scalloped edges!!
ReplyDeleteoh that penny black stamp is gorgeous and makes for the perfect one layer card!! and your tag is just fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteLove that one layer card Greta! Brilliant idea to do it like this!

Hey Greta! Such a cute photo of you with your little basket of leaves! And, it goes pretty darn well with your gorgeous card! Coordinating your outfit with the card you're giving takes it to a completely new level, hahaha : ) But seriously, your card would be great for mass producing for the holidays ... relatively few steps involved, but still makes a big impact. Lovely tag for Tracey's challenge as well! H
ReplyDeleteBoth projects are great and I remember both stamps from back in the day!
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful jacket, I like that color!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty one layer card too!
