Alcohol Ink Flowers

February 1st--how did that happen?!  Time for another Words 2 Scrap By challenge. This month we're asking you to do something different--not what you usually create.  I decided to use my alcohol inks.  Most of the time they just decorate the shelf--LOL! I used Cranberry & Wild Plum on glossy photo paper & then brushed on some Distress Stain Brushed Pewter after die cutting & dry embossing the Sizzix flowers.  I bought the die in close-out long ago but had never used it.  I glued them together with some vellum layers & embellished with a large jewel brad I've had for over 10 years!  The border die is Our Daily Bread Design, the leaf flourish is MFT (a year end splurge!) & the sentiment is Savvy Stamps.  I added satin ribbon, clear sticker dots & a strip of Elizabeth Craft silver glitter. I'm entering the Anything Goes challenge at SSS Wednesday and SSS Work It Wednesday.
The big day has arrived--Seahawks playing in their second straight Super Bowl!  We're forgetting the calorie counting for a day so I can have bownies with coffee ice cream--yum!  Go Hawks!
Edited to Add: Entering the challenge at Die Cut Divas.

  3. Alcohol inks are so beautiful; I haven't used my in ages either. Your card is lovely, the pretty brad is perfect for the center of the flower. I have lots and lots of brads in my stash. I need to "use them or lose them!"

Go, Seahawks!!! I'm making chili today; which means that I will be eating it all week. :)

  5. I love how you combined all these different shades and made such a beautiful card. Your flower came out so well and you got to use a NBUS! I'm with you, I don't know how this could possibly be Feb. 1st. I'm getting my snacks together and everything done so I can snuggle in and watch the game. Go Seahawks.

  12. Greta,

Love your pretty alcohol-inks creation! And, I, like Bobbi, need to get out my alcohol inks -- yes, those inks that I just had to have -- and see what I can do.

    Thanks for the inspiration! :)

  23. You are amazing. What a stunning card. I love your flowers, just so beautiful and creative. We were so disappointed the Hawks lost, it looked like a good game. I spent most of it in my craft room and peeking out a few times. There is next year, right?
