When I saw the Merry Monday challenge included using plaid ribbon, I knew I had to get a card made. I have trouble using ribbons that aren't totally plain & wanted to finally use some of this piece I bought who knows when. It does help to pull out the ribbon first & match the inks & papers to it. I ended up using products from 3 of the companies I was first introduced to when I began stamping & still love today: Hero Arts--branch, DeNami--pine cone, Penny Black--word die.
My inks are Memento Olive Grove & Espresso Truffle. I used my Gelly Roll Clear Star pen on the needles & Frosted Lace Stickles on the pine cones. Due to the difference in time zones, think I get to add this at Pixies Snippets Playground since all the cardstock came from my scrap boxes. A simple traditional card, but it's a look I like. Thanks for your visit--I always appreciate it.
Beautiful Greta! I love the way you used the stamps together. That HA branch is one of my favs!
ReplyDeleteHi Greta!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I love this card. Pine cones and plaid - so very Christmassy and beautifully designed and made. Just perfect for the Merry Monday Challenge and I'm delighted to see you want to bring it to the Playground. The gates will creak open just six minutes from now - it's almost midnight here and I'm about to open up before going to bed :)

Gorgeous and elegant, Greta~ the combination of the three stamps, and the ribbon is eye-catching and oh so festive! I'm loving that layout, and can visualize using it for other occasions. A ong floral stamp and different sentiment...how pretty would that be?? I'm on the search for some Penny Black stamps/dies, as I've been 'influenced' by Chaitali's interview (Iron Craft - at cuts, crops and creativity blog) with Jill Foster. Oh, to have a LSS...I'm becoming more reluctant to shop online (shipping costs being one drawback), because I want to see/touch what I'm buying. Any recommendation for PB stamps/dies - I'd love to know your go-to favourites (no rush...I'm saving pennies *grin*)
