The other day I started to clean up my craft area & came upon this stamped & clear embossed piece still un-inked.  Well, that was all the excuse I needed to stop the clean up & start making a card!  I sponged on Distress Inks squeezed lemonade, shabby shutters & antique linen.  The die is my new border from My Favorite Things & I'd used it on a scrap of brown paper that was sitting there, so decided to make it part of the card.  Took a couple more days, but eventually I added the other elements.  I'm trying out different color combos than I'm used to, so that's why the sentiment is stamped with Memento Morocco.  The brad attaching the flowers & the little button gave me the "3" of that color, so I'm hoping it works.  Since I ended up with the little stamped & cut out flowers, I'm entering this month's Hero Arts challenge HERE.  All the stamps are Hero Arts: Silhouette Grass, Dotted Flowers & Live Life.

Summer has arrived here, so we spent the day at the lake--actually got in the water, but only for a minute!  Next time I'll stay in--hubby took about 5 minutes to feel comfortable.  Hope you're having a great weekend & thanks for taking time to stop by.

  1. Hello Greta
It is freezing here!!!!Lovely seeing this delightfully warm card, it is shining like a scorching sun; the squeezed lemonade is fabulous.
And I like how you have stamped the sentiment in the hot Morroco, it gives the card a WOW, and a contrast that hits you in the eye.
    A gorgeous card.

  2. I so agree with Sue... we are freezing ~typing with fingerless gloves on at 3.45pm. So enjoy your summer. Lovely lovely card. The lemon colour looks amazing and the pop of the Morroco really makes the sentiment stand out.

  3. Love the bg distressing, Greta! It gives such cool feeling to the card with the embossed silhoutte!

  4. wow, greta!! what a fantastic card! love the colors and all the amazing little details!

  5. I love, love, love how you inked the embossed piece! The little pops of color from the sentiment and button are fresh!

  6. I am glad you "resisted" cleaning so you could make this beauty! Love the bold die-cut border on the side!

  7. Greta, what a striking card you've created here! The inking is fabulous, and the die-cut border really makes this beauty pop! I love it!

So glad to hear your summer has now arrived...I'm happy to "share" it with you! We had some much-needed rain yesterday, and are expecting more today and tomorrow. YEAH, what a welcome relief from the 100+ temperatures.

    Have a wonderful week!
