One Stamp Three Ways

Today & tomorrow are exciting days as Precious Remembrance Shop & Imagine Crafts are doing a joint Blog Hop with giveaways!  

I have tons of wonderful Imagine Crafts products & you will see quite a few of them in my projects.  We're also featuring 2 of the great PRS stamp sets: School Days & Totally.  Today I'm showing you how the same stamp can be used for very different looks.  A stamp positioner makes it super easy, but acrylic blocks would work, too.  Here are my 3 cards using the big thanks word from the School Days set.

First is the red & black card using school colors to thank a male coach or teacher.  The inks are Memento Tuxedo Black & Rhubarb Stalk. 

I purposely left the black words a little light & stamped multiple times for a heavy inking of the red.  Then I used a small paintbrush dipped in GooseBumps Shimmer Texture spray to cover the red word.  The result is fun shine & texture when the light hits it.  

Next I went feminine using beautiful VersaMagic Spring Pansy & Purple Hydrangea matted with gray cardstock.  

The panel was spritzed with Frost Sheer Shimmer Craft Spray which is gorgeous!  I rounded the corners & added HA ombre sequins. 

My third card uses Brilliance inks which are some of my oldest & best loved.  This time I had a rainbow theme using these Pearlescent inks: Poppy, Rust, Yellow, Thyme & Sky Blue.

I trimmed down the panel, attached a strip of patterned paper & tied on twine.  There you have it--one stamp & 3 very different cards.

Fun with older sets

I can count on one hand the number of times I've made a card with masking.  Usually I don't have the patience which I think is because I'm such a slow crafter anyway.  However, can't miss a PTI MIM so sat down last night determined to come up with something for the Masking Sentiments challenge.  I ended up using 2 of my older PTI sets: Year of Flowers Collection (my first PTI order in 2011) & Framed Out #1 (purchased in 2012) for a one layer thank you.  The frame has a matching die which I cut from a full adhesive sticky note to use for my mask--worked great!  I bought the floral set to use for backgrounds after seeing that in a magazine years ago.  Sadly, I've hardly used it, but the daffodil turned out to be perfect for what I had in mind. 

The PTI inks are Honey Nut, Harvest Gold, Ripe Avacado & Simply Chartreuse.  No coloring at all--just added Star Dust Stickles to the flower centers.  It's such a neat look in person as the glitter picked up the green color of the stamping. 

Needed just a little something in the background & I was afraid to do actual splatters.  Instead I used a stamp in the Precious Remembrance Shop set called Fall Colors.  The stamping is second generation with Simply Chartreuse ink & I love the results.  I'm also entering Retro Rubber, Stamping Sensations & WAW.

Hello in Plaid

Having fun with a stamp set in my last W&W order--Scenery Stripes.  I've been wanting to make my own plaids & here's my first attempt. 

I used the W&W April Color Combo just in time as the challenge is about to end.  The W&W hello die is still one of my favorites--great size for many different techniques.  The little word is from SSS Thoughtful Messages.  I used HA Cornflower Blue & Soft Pool along with PTI Hawaiian Shores & Spring Rain.  I used a textured white cardstock for the card base & rounded the corners.  Decided to keep it very CAS, so no splatters or embellishments & I like it!  I'm also entering Time Out Challenges & WAW.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Happy Retirement

My last order from W&W included the wonderful Cover Model: Do You See What I See? Cutaway.  Gotta say, it cut beautifully without using a shim!  Decided to keep it simple for my first card & just cut it from white cardstock.  For the background I watercolored a panel with DI evergreen bough, peacock feathers, salty ocean, broken china & tumbled glass.  I misted with water for a bit of added texture, but hard to see in the photo.

My color combo is based on the W&W April Color Combo Challenge--so beautiful & peaceful.  One of my previous bosses who is also a friend just retired May 1, so this card is for her.  The sentiment is done with W&W In a Word: Hello Cutaway and Heidi Swapp alpha stickers.  All the white cardstock is brushed with Wink of Stella & the sticker word is attached with foam tape.

I think this is the first time I've added a sentiment strip on top of a die cut word--so fun!  I'm also entering HLS Anything Goes with Dies, SSS Monday & WAW.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Another Transformation

I'm really loving the PTI Transformation Tuesday challenges.  Not sure why I keep cards I don't like.  This one is from March 2016 & I do like the color combo of black, gold & kraft. 

Apparently I didn't use very good adhesive as I was able to tear it apart & save the card base, black & gold strips & hello die cut.  Decided it would help to use more solid stamps & I chose Friendship Jar Flowers. 

All the images were stamped in Delicata Golden Glitz on a new kraft panel.  For the roses I added a layer of VersaMagic Jumbo Java on top. 

The gold ink is so beautiful in person, but hard to photograph.  So happy to have a card I can actually mail!  I'm also entering CAS-ual Fridays & Die Cut Divas.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.

Lilacs and a Friend

We were awakened by rolling thunder last night, but no storms today.  In fact, it was a lovely day with sun & clouds.  Perfect for meeting up with my dear friend, Rosemary.  

We both love lilacs & enjoyed talking while we admired the lilacs and other flowers in a Woodland, Washington garden.

Wish we could all meet in person, but I know that's not possible.  Thankfully, we have our blogs & I do so appreciate your friendship.  I'll be back with cards soon.  Thanks for stopping by.

Aqua Snowflakes

I love PTI MIM & this week is no exception!  Melissa's butterfly reminded me of What the Doodle: Snowflakes which I've barely used. 

I save every bit of my PTI cardstock & had a scrap of Aqua Mist that worked perfectly to cover a card I'd cut to the wrong size for another project.  After double white embossing the 3 larger snowflakes, I blended the centers with Hawaiian Shores.  The little snowflake images were randomly stamped in Hawaiian Shores.  I used Ocean Tides to stamp the sentiment from Snowflake Flurries.  A combination of white Nuvo Drops & Stardust Stickles were used for embellishment. 

Beautiful images really help when creating a simple card & I love this non-traditional monochromatic color combo.  Bonus--it's  nice & flat for mailing!  I'm also entering HLS Christmas Challenge & The Snippets Playground.  Thanks so much for taking time to stop by.
