Pink Reindeer

I've been trying for days to come up with a reindeer card for the One Layer Christmas Card Challenge.  Then today I saw Merry Monday also wants a reindeer & I came across this adorable one by Hero Arts in my collection. The Share Handmade Kindness Card Shower is an option for Week 3 of the challenge. It includes cards for 6 yr old Emily who loves dark pink--a girl after my own heart!  I began by masking an area & blending Distress Ink picked raspberry & ripe persimmon. The little deer was then stamped in Versafine & so was the Technique Tuesday sentiment. The little star is included in the TT set & I stamped it in ripe persimmon.  Stickles make for a sparkly, feminine little reindeer that will hopefully make Emily smile.  Might have to make more cards with this layout--nice & flat for mailing.  Thanks so much for taking time to visit my blog.
Edited to add: Also entering the one layer Christmas card challenge at a2z Scrapbooking.

Rainy Day, A Card & A Tag

We need the rain & it came. Fortunately hubby's jacket covers me to the knees & Fritz has his custom raincoat made by my talented sister. We've had rain alternating with sun all day.  I'm always amazed at how some trees are completely bare while others still have nearly all their leaves.  Thought you might enjoy these pictures.

I know you're busy, so here's my card using Memory Box Prim Poppy die, Paper Smooches free digi sentiment & Dots & Dashes die.  Love the smooth DCWV glitter cardstock--all beautiful colors & here I used the gold.  I'm entering Memory Box Challenge #6 (Glitter), Paper Smooches (Gold), Share Joy Challenge (Tic Tac Toe Thank You, Flowers, Ribbon), CAS-ual Chic (Precious Metals), Dies R Us (Thankful) & The Playground (Use Snippets).
Really had fun making another tag using MFT Spring Wreath & sentiment from a retired set along with Lawn Fawn Stitched Circle.  I used the MFT Color Challenge with inspiration from Laura's tag for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags. Thanks so much for stopping by--I appreciate all of you!

Thanks So Much

I always try to get something made for the Impression Obsession challenges.  This time the IO theme is Give Thanks & I went pretty simple.  My card is also for the Inkspirational Challenge--Anything Goes with Silver and Share Handmade Kindness Wk 2--Community.
I stamped & white embossed IO CAC Spatter (CC059) twice on watercolor paper & used 2 pink Zig markers for a bit of an ombre look.  I used pink because this card was given with a little treat to the tech who did my mammogram.  She was super professional, friendly & efficient. The sentiment die was cut from self-adhesive fun foam & covered with silver foil.  Silver sequins provide the embellishment. Edited to add: Lots of texture so just realized I can enter at Virginia's View.
I know you all join me in feelings of great sadness at the horrible tragedy in Paris, again reminding me of how precious life is & how lucky I am.

Card Directions & Christmas Tag

I want to thank all of you who visited ScrapRDV to see my sketch & card--I so appreciate it!
Thought some of you might be interested in how the card was made.  I followed Heather's tutorial HERE using Penny Black stamps & Merry die. The PTI inks are Autumn Rose, Pinefeather & Ocean Tides.  I spritzed the panel with Tattered Angels Iridescent Gold which gives a gorgeous shimmer.  To make the black background strip I just used my Delicata Golden Glitz ink pad direct to paper.  I'm entering the challenge at Penny Black & More
Tracey's Avery Elle Tag
I don't make many tags, but was so inspired by Tracey's tag on DAY 1 that I made one for the 25 Days of Christmas Tags. I love wreaths & pulled out one of my favorites by Art Impressions, a company not far from me. I used Tracey's red & green color combo (different shades), red & white ribbon, sequins & layout.  The wreath was inked in Distress Ink pine needles, spritzed & stamped. Then I inked in Distress Ink evergreen bough, spritzed, turned the image slightly & stamped again.
The sentiment, also AI, was stamped in Distress Ink festive berries.  I used tiny gems for berries & added 3 white sequins.  The PTI Tag Sale #3 die cut was sent by my sweet friend, Martha, so I can see if I really want to buy the die. I'm also entering the Christmas challenges at Art ImpressionsHappy Little Stampers. I just might end up making some more tags before the challenges end. Long post--thanks for sticking with me!

Joy

As soon as I saw the MFT Color Challenge I knew I wanted to use my MFT Poinsettia die. How to work in the blue color sort of threw me until I saw Erin & Veronica's DT cards using it as the background.
I die cut a Lawn Fawn white stitched circle & dry embossed it with a Tim Holtz woodgrain folder.  I die cut the circle from the blue textured panel & inlaid the white circle.  The poinsettia is covered with Wink of Stella for lots of shimmer.  I layered several Penny Black "Joy" die cuts & clear embossed the top one a couple times to give a shiny finish.  The leaves & top petals were lightly bent up for some dimension & I added a tiny white sequin. Have to say, I love the classic look of this Christmas card.  I'm also entering at City Crafter Challenge Blog, Addicted to Stamps (used the red, white & Christmas theme) & Virginia's View.

Friendship

I always intend to get a card made for Merry Monday & the MFT sketch challenges, but I've missed both of them lately.  As soon as I saw the sketch, I knew I wanted to use my MFT Let it Snowflake dies with felt. Then I saw the MM color combo of pink, green & white and the card came together.  I began by watercoloring a background with my newly acquired Zig markers & brushed it with Shimmer Spritz Frost. Then I colored the MFT Fishnet stencil with the green marker, spritzed with water, randomly removed some of the ink & pressed it on the panel for just a touch of darker green.  The pink felt snowflakes make me happy & hopefully the recipient will like them, too!  Not sure I've ever used this sweet sentiment from MFT Snow Angel which is white embossed on a double vellum flag. Basically a flat card, but still texture & interest. I'm also entering at Virginia's View.  Thanks so much for your encouragement & support--means a lot to me.

Happy Birthday

Currently at ODBD there's a color challenge. You have to use at least 3 of the colors & I used all of them. Originally I planned to make a Christmas card, but then I realized we need a birthday card.  Isn't the font beautiful?  It's a sentiment in the ODBD set called Iris.  The flowers from ODBD Sweet William-Small were brown embossed on red cardstock & die cut with Spellbinders Blossom 3.
The leaves are a die by 4EnScrap which I cut from 2 shades of green.  The little doily is by Martha Stewart & the embossing folder is Cuttlebug Anna Griffin Feather Illusion--one of my favorites.  A red dew drop embellishes the flower & I finished off with small PPP Marshmallow sequins. So you ask, where's the gold?  I brushed gold Shimmer Spritz on the blossoms, leaves & doily.  Here's a close-up so you can get an idea of the shimmer.
My design is based on Karren's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. Think the dew drop looks glossy so will also link up at SSS Monday & I'm playing just for fun at The Playground. Thank you so much for taking time to visit my blog.
